FORA is a membership alliance for family-owned roofing companies. We collect only the business information we need to talk with roofing owners about membership, and we never sell it.
Who we are
This policy covers familyownedroofers.com, operated by Family Owned Roofers of America ("FORA," "we," "us"). It explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you fill out our contact form, complete the Contractor Diagnostic Scorecard, email us, or call us, we collect what you provide. That can include your name, company name, email address, phone number, approximate company revenue, answers about how your business operates, and anything you write in a message.
Business contact information from public sources. To reach family-owned roofing companies that may be a fit for FORA, we compile business contact details that companies make publicly available. That can include company name, owner or contact name, business email and phone number, website, city and state, public review ratings, and manufacturer certifications.
Basic visit information. We use a privacy-focused analytics service that counts visits without cookies and without identifying individual visitors. It tells us things like which pages were viewed, which website or link sent a visitor to us, and general device type and country. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs, such as IP address and browser type, for security and reliability.
How we use information
- To respond to your inquiry and talk with you about FORA membership
- To review whether your company is a fit and prepare your diagnostic assessment
- To contact roofing business owners by email, phone, or mail about FORA
- To operate, secure, and improve this website
- To comply with legal obligations
Business outreach and opting out
We may contact roofing business owners using the public business information described above. Every email we send identifies who we are and tells you how to stop hearing from us.
To opt out, reply "remove" to any of our emails or write to info@familyownedroofers.com. We'll stop contacting you within 10 business days and keep your address on a do-not-contact list so you aren't added back later.
How we share information
We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only in these situations:
- With the FORA team, including the founding partners and the people who help us evaluate and onboard members.
- With service providers that run our tools on our behalf, including website hosting (Netlify), form processing (Formspree), email and documents (Google Workspace), email sending (GMass), and website analytics. They may use the information only to provide their service to us.
- When required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of FORA, our members, or others.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and our analytics does not use cookies. Some page elements, such as fonts and icons, load from third-party content networks, which receive standard technical information like your IP address in order to deliver them.
If you start the Contractor Diagnostic Scorecard, your in-progress answers are saved in your own browser so you don't lose your place. That draft stays on your device and isn't sent to us until you submit the scorecard.
How long we keep information
We keep information for as long as we need it to evaluate membership, maintain a business relationship, or meet legal requirements. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your choices
- Opt out of outreach by replying "remove" or emailing us.
- Ask what we have about you or your company.
- Ask us to correct or delete your information.
Send any request to info@familyownedroofers.com. We'll confirm we received it within 5 business days.
Security
This website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and form submissions are sent securely. We don't collect or store payment information on this website. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we limit access to the people and providers who need it.
This site is for businesses
This website is intended for roofing business owners and professionals. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here and change the effective date at the top.
